The West Memphis Police reserve was formed in February of 2001. These volunteer, part-time officers are unpaid. They possess full police powers when on duty and have undergone a comprehensive training program.

The reserve division currently consists of five officers. Five more are needed and applications are being accepted. Visit our Career Opportunities page for information on how to become a reserve police officer.

Reserve officers must work a minimum of 16 hours per month to maintain their certification. These officers are a valuable asset to the police department and are often called upon when the demand for manpower requires more officers to be present.

Reserve officers also have an advantage when full-time officers are needed. Many former reserve officers are now full-time officers with the West Memphis Police Department.
